Antique Swedish Bombe Chest in Satin Birch

Rare antique Swedish Bombe' chest in what looks like Burr Satin Birch. Apparently, it's known as Carolean Birch in Sweden. It's inlaid, cross banded & has gilt metal mounts. The wood has been set together in a kind of diamond formation, which I suppose is like an enlarged parquetry. This is a very attractive piece, with good colour & patina. I would say it dates from around the 1920-30's period.

Antique Distressed Leather Chesterfield Armchair

This Chesterfield armchair is a real character piece, because of the quality & colour of the original hand coloured leather. It's deep buttoned, naturally distressed with just the right amount of wear & very comfortable. It's not easy to pick this model up singly, because they usually come in pairs. I would say it dates to around the 1930's period, even though it looks antique Victorian & it's in lovely original condition, with no tears.

Pair of Antique Swedish Satin Birch Bergere Armchairs

This very impressive pair of Bergere armchairs are amazing quality & are in lovely original condition. They have just been recovered & are very comfortable, because the cushions are generously filled with feathers. These armchairs are Swedish & are Satin Birch, with wonderful carving all over. Please look at all of the images to appreciate the details. They have very generous proportions, with carved scroll over arms & hairy paw feet. I think they date from around the 1930's period. Satin Birch is one of my favourite woods, because it has a lovely glow to it. These chairs still have the original cane, which is still in good condition & is double cane all over.
