Bureaux Bookcases

Edwardian Mahogany Bureau Bookcase

This Edwardian mahogany bureau bookcase is of very solid construction & dates to around the 1890-1900 period. The top section has astral glazed doors behind which are adjustable shelves on sharks tooth supports. The writing surface pulls down & has automatic supports. Inside are 2 small drawers & plenty of pidgeon holes. There are 3 drawers below with original locks & handles. All of this sits on bracket feet. This item is in totally original condition, with a couple of minor damages that I can see. These aren't immediately noticeable. There is a little bit of wood coming away on the base of the left bracket foot, which can be fixed back at no extra cost. There is a small crack appearing on the carcass of the left side of the drawer section, where it appears to be lifting away a bit (see fourth image). I personally wouldn't touch it, but if you wanted it professionally restored, we could arrange it.

Antique Georgian Style Walnut Bureau Bookcase

This burr walnut bureau bookcase is of nice small proportions. It is antique Georgian style, with adjustable shelves in the top, behind two cupboards. The bureau section has four drawers below, with original brass handles & sits on shaped bracket feet. The bureau flap is crossbanded around the edge. This piece is in good original condition & I would say it dates to around the 1930's period.
