This is the most unusual antique Davenport that I've come across. It's mahogany, with satinwood inlay in many places. The top slides back & there is a display cabinet below, with bevelled glass on the door. There are many more nice features, like the unusual blind fretwork, the drawer below the writing surface & the lift up lid revealing the pen compartment. The handles & the leatherwriting surface are original too. This Davenport has lots of character, good patina & colour, with various markings & indentations commensurate for it's age, which I would put at around the 1890-1900 period. The overall condition is good for it's age & it is structurally sound, but please don't expect a new looking antique. Three of the casters are original porcelain, while the other one at the back is brass. Width - 24", 61 cm Depth - 20", 51 cm Height - 33", 84 cm
